I Miss My Baby Bump (?)

Just reminiscing the days when I still have my baby bump, I can still remember all the food trips (food trip pa talaga ang una kong naalala, haha!), the hardship, the dilemmas, the postpartum blues, and everything. They say I’m lucky because I had a fairly simple pregnancy and I never actually threw up. But sometimes your rosy glow of pregnancy can be clouded by less pleasant side effects that come with the turf. But I don’t want to get pregnant now, OK?! Just want to be clear, OK?! πŸ˜› #DefensiveMuch

I love wearing dress and loud color when I was preggy because it’s so girly and it gives so much glow to me. Isn’t it?!(In tagalog: Hindi naman diba?Haha!) πŸ™‚

Actually, every month I used to take photos of my belly-belly. I love it! πŸ™‚

What I miss about being pregnant? Everybody’s taking good care of me, the special treatment, I miss Cyler’s kick on my tummy, I miss the anticipation of the birth, I miss the miracle inside me, the attention. Oh boy, I miss almost everything, I had a wonderful pregnancy except when I had a tooth infection. It was horrible, really! Alright, forget about that tooth chuvaloo.

My nose is getting bigger and betterrr, ayt?! LOL

O diba, isang angle lang lahat ng pose ko?! Ang hirap kumilos eh! Hahaha!

Just want it to share with you. Having a person inside you is really a miracle, I remember telling my husband how I had two hearts in my body, stuff like that. Seriously, it feels weird but great. So those are some of the things I miss about being pregnant. And I know the next one will probably be even better because I have my son to share it with!

Strawberry fields.. FOREVAH! (Hindi halatang nasa CR noh? haha!)

So, to all the expectant moms out there, enjoy every minute with your baby bump and good luck to your delivery! Have a safe one! πŸ™‚

Cyler Got A New Playmate!

Today, we took Cyler at Doc Vienne’s clinic in St. Lukes, Global due to his on and off cough and colds. Last weekend he was vomiting already and his cough is getting worse. So, I texted Docky this morning and she told me that she wants to see and check Cyler. So, I filed an emergency leave right away and took Cyler to Doc Vienne’s clinic. While waiting for our turn Cyler when to his favorite spot where the table maze is. A pretty little girl went to that same spot and started playing with Cyler.

20120730-192348.jpg

Come on Cyler, don’t be shy! πŸ˜›

The little girl is four months older than him.

20120730-192455.jpg

Lil’ Girl: Tita, he’s not even looking at me. 😦

Cyler didn’t know how to play with the little girl, I think we need to teach him how to play with the other kids because he is not used to it. And he doesn’t have any playmate in our house aside from us. His cousin Lucas is month older than him but they rarely see each other because our home is really far from their place, like south to north. But I wish that they can be best of friends.

Anyhoo, the little girl kept on touching his arms pero deadma lang ang bagets! Hay naku Cyler chicks yan!

20120730-192718.jpg

Ayan nag pose nalang si little girl. Cyler kasi ayaw pansinin! πŸ˜›

Oh well, better luck next time sweetie! πŸ™‚

Btw, Dra told us that Cyler’s cough is no longer viral because it’s getting worse than before. She recommended antibacterial medicines for Cyler. The good news is Cyler has a strong immune system, it naturally fights the bacteria and viruses inside him. She mentioned that Cyler vomits due to his phlegm. And there’s nothing to worry about. The medicine will take effect after three to four days, so hopefully his cough and colds will subside already. Oh, now I’m relief. Wew! Thank God! πŸ™‚

And I hope next time Cyler will gain more friends and more play dates with his cousins.

Getting an Educational Plan and Securing Our Child’s Future

My mom is a single mom and we are six siblings, so she can’t support all our financial needs especially our studies. But I’m still blessed because my Tita Nanin(my mom’s eldest sister) supported my studies. I am really lucky to have her and I owe my success to her. I still support the studies of my younger sisters even I have my own family now. Not because I don’t have a choice but because I want them to have a good life and career also. So, even before Cyler was born education is my top priority. I want to secure his future, and I want to give him a better and brighter future. We all know that education is the greatest thing that we can give to our child but we also got overwhelmed by increasing tuition costs. So, Cj and I decided to get a college educational plan for Cyler. I asked my friends, office mates ,and even my boss about this. They say that when your kid is still a baby, it is the best time to get started and save for his education.

20120912-114023.jpg

Educational insurance on a child is not for everyone. However, it is one option that can be considered when planning for your child’s college education. After reading, listening, and studying about educational insurance, finally we decided to get an educational plan for Cyler. Cyler was six months old then when we bought his educational policy. Most parents and insurance experts says the best time to save for your kid’s education is NOW. My office mate Anna recommended her insurance Broker to me. The Broker’s name is Reggie, she explained everything to us and I want it to share with you in case you want to learn about educational plan.

So here it goes:

  • Why do you need to plan early for your childs education? The cost of higher education is increasing, due to inflation or some other economic factors. The increasing cost can result in financial strain for parents/guardians when they begin higher education. Therefore, it is important to plan early to prepare adequately for their higher education.
  • How much coverage do you need? The first step in determining the amount is to have a goal in mind. Here are the factors you may need to consider in determining the level of coverage:
  1. Place of study
  2. Level of qualification
  3. University of choice
  4. Field of study
  5. Length of study

Tips when buying an educational plan:

  1. Ensure that you opt for the payor benefit rider. Look for a policy that waves premium payment in the event the parent/legal guardian can no longer pay for the policy. By opting for the payor benefit rider, your child’s educational fund will be taken care of should anything happen to you- reality check.
  2. Make sure that the premium is affordable. It is a long term process and therefore, you need to be realistic in estimating how much you can afford based on your current income and expenses.
  3. Do not add unnecessary coverage. Be careful about adding too much insurance coverage as the costs will eat the amount of savings.
  4. Make sure that the Insurance Company is stable. Ensure that you are getting the right one because investing your money into something is no joke at all. Remember, you are saving for your child’s future.

So, these are the important things that I learned from our insurance broker. Btw, we avail Manulife educational insurance for Cyler, they are top life insurance firm in the country.

Ensuring our child’s future is one of the best thing that we can do with them. Securing your child’s future is your responsibility as a parent and that makes a huge difference in your childs life. I know that no matter what happen to us, his future is secure. Remember, the best time to save for your kid’s education is now. Heavy education costs can not be borne without proper planning, so start saving for your children’s education today. It will provide a brighter future for them tomorrow. πŸ™‚

KMS Cooks: Specialized Pancakes!

I really love pancakes, it’s one of my favorite breakfast, dessert, and snack when I was a little kiddo and I still love it even now that I have my own kiddo. And oh boy, it never fails to satisfy my taste buds. We used to bake a lot when I was a small kid and I miss baking so much. I miss my Tita Nanin’s ultimate carrot cake. I can’t bake now because we don’t have any oven in my in-laws house. We’re living in my in-laws at the meantime that’s why we can’t buy our own things. Kailan kaya matutupad yung dream kitchen ko?! Huwaaa! Sana bukas na! LOL. #LibreAngMangarap

Anyhoo, this morning I made Cyler a specialized pancake for his breakfast, it was his first time to taste and eat this! πŸ™‚

Only for you, Cyler! πŸ™‚

I saw this at Ate Maggie’s post and I started craving for pancakes. I can say that binuhay nya ang natutulog kong chef na kaluluwa! So this time, allow me to share it with you. πŸ™‚ Continue reading

My One Proud Mommy Post

Hi friends, actually I don’t know where to start… My heart is filled with so much joy and excitement with this post, as in super kaduper happiness! I can’t help but scream… Waaaaahhhh!!!!!!!! #BuhayRetarded

Alrighty, I think I’m ready now.. here it is..

Last Tuesday night when we got home, Mama (my mom) told me about the good news:

Mama: Anak, may hindi kayo alam kay Cyler.

Me: Huh?! Bakit anong ngyare? Marunong ng mag secret si Cyler?!

Mama: Gaga, hindi!….. Naglalakad na yung anak mo! (with a big smile on her face, naks proud Lola eh!)

Me: Na-gaga pako. Kailangan talaga Ma’ my gaga muna?!Β  Waaaaa! Totoo?! Omegad Cyleerrrrrr!!!!!!!

So, I immediately called Cyler and I said “Cyler, you can walk now?! Come on, come to Mommy!” and he walk towards me. Oh-My-Gulay! I’m such a proud Momma! That very moment is really heartwarming, the feeling was really different! Walang mapag lagyan yung ngiti ko that day. It’s true, the feeling is different when you see your child achievements. I almost cried due to immense happiness and joy that it brings me. OA na kung OA but that’s how I feel. πŸ™‚

Guys, happy to share that my little bunny, Cyler can.. WALK now! Wooo Hoo! So far this is one of his biggest milestone as a toddler. We’ve been waiting for so long and finally it’s here!

Four thumbs up, sweetie! Including my foot thumb! We are sooo proud of you!

How to Deal with Picky-Eater Toddler

His first solid food. Cyler was six months old here.

Many toddlers are picky eaters. Being picky about food is a normal behavior for many toddlers but it is also frustrating to every parents. Cyler became a picky eater when we introduced table foods to him. Maybe because his taste buds is not used to tasty foods. As mentioned from my previous post Dra.Vienne recommended an appetite vitamins for Cyler. The name of the vitamin is Mosegor Vita, happy to tell that it was effective to our picky-eater tot. He gained one kilo in just one month compare to the previous month. His food and milk intake increases as well. Now, we don’t need to force him to eat because he eats everything we give him.

Doc Vienne said that we can allow Cyler watch the TV while his eating, if that’s the only way to distract him from eating. We used to turn off the TV when he doesn’t want to eat, we show to him that he cannot watch the TV if he will not eat. Doc said that eating should also be fun to every toddler. She also said that a big mistake parents make is believing their child doesn’t like something because they refused it the first time around. But that first try, the food is new, and your toddler may just be wary. So don’t give up after just one shot. Continue to serve up that new food, and eventually, once it becomes a familiar sight, your tot may venture a taste.

Here are the three things that I learned from dealing with my picky eater toddler.

1. Do not force him to eat. Watch the signs that your baby’s had enough, such as turning his head away. When moms are controlling during feeding, babies are less able to regulate their own intake. Offer your child a variety of nutritious foods and let him or her choose what to eat.

2. Food is fun. Talk to your child while his eating– saying “Yummy!” encourages the baby to eat. And also let him touch the food and use his hands too, experiencing the textures of food is an important part of learning process says SP Maganize.

3. Patience is the key. Be patient, though. It can take up to 15 attempts before your picky eater gets used to a new taste. And even it can take up to one hour before he finishes his meal. Don’t put pressure on your child. Again, eating should be fun. πŸ™‚

Don’t worry if it seems that your child doesn’t eat enough at one meal. Doc Vienne said that if your child has plenty of energy and is growing, he or she is most likely healthy. I am happy because Cyler is gaining more now although he is teething (again). Btw, the best time to give Mosegor vitamins to your child is before bed time because it has sleeping side effects. Cyler slept the whole day when he drink this vitamin for the first time, and so we decided to give it to him before bed time. It also helps him to sleep better at night. And of course, wait for your Pedia’s prescription before giving it to your child.

Motherhood gets tougher when you’re dealing with your picky eater child and motherhood isn’t all we hoped it would be, after all this is what motherhood is all about. Motherhood is hard and wonderful all at the same time. πŸ™‚

Cyler’s First Art Activity

I’m not a fan of art, in fact the only art I know is ka-ART-ehan. Hehe I took up computer engineering and we had a drawing subject then but I didn’t enjoy it because I don’t know how to draw and I’m not really into it. By God’s grace I pass my drawing subject. πŸ™‚ #LakasManalangin

Anyhoo, Cyler has so many coloring books and crayons in our house, he got these from the previous kiddie parties that we have attended. But it was only stuck on his bookshelf. Since he already mastered his finger and palmar grasp I decided to teach him how to use crayons. He was so curious when he saw the crayons but he immediately grabbed it to me. At first he got overwhelmed with so many colors, so I decided to gave him two crayons at a time. First, I demonstrated to him how to use crayons, surprisingly he follows afterwards. Oh, I was expecting him to throw all the crayons .

He likes coloring so much. Yey!

Crayons lead to self-expression, and they help teach colors.

It allows your toddler to express herself through art.

Crayons are useful introducing children to the art forms of rubbings and crayon resist. Crayons are one of the first tools children can use to record their environment and imagination.

You did it, Cyler!

Art is a vital part of human development.

Toddler art activities help children develop fine motor control as well as early math skills and exercise their innate creativity.

He was so serious while doing this art activity, hmmm… is he the next Pablo Picasso or Vincent Van Gogh?! πŸ™‚ #LibreAngMangarap

Ladies and gentlemen… I proudly present my son’s first art masterpiece… (Drum roll please!)

Tadah!

Anyare dyan, Cyler?! πŸ˜›

His masterpiece! (bahala na kayo mag-interpret!) πŸ˜›

This is all good and well, but, for parents who haven’t picked up a crayons in a while, it can be hard to branch out past crayons and markers. Good thing, Cyler loves his first art activity! Hooray! And remember, don’t expect a masterpiece just yet. Let your toddler do it on his own because toddler learns a lot while having fun.

Crayons are a fun way for children to practice beginning writing skills. Interesting colors are much more fun than lead pencils. This is also a great bonding moment for parents and child. I am now thinking for our next art activity. Any suggestions? πŸ™‚

Fun-filled Rainy Sunday!

Last Sunday, we attended my niece’s first birthday party at Tom’s World, Robinsons Galleria though it was raining hard. Thank God there’s no flood at that time. We came a bit late due to the bad weather, but good thing the party was not starting yet when we arrive because they are waiting for the other visitors also. Cyler got really excited when we entered the place because of the rides. Most of our relatives in Cj’s side was there and we had a chance to catch up. Tom’s World is a good place for a birthday party because of their fun zone, but I think the party venue itself was a bit small.

Happy Birthday, Brielle!

The party theme was Minnie and Mickey Mouse, as you can see in the above photo.

Cyler enjoyed walking a lot

Speaking of walking, I have a good news to share in my next post, so watch out for that! πŸ™‚

I love the bagpack loot bag, it looks so cute to Cyler when he wore it. πŸ™‚

With my CIL’s

All kids are privileged for unlimited rides. After the party, we first tried the Ferris wheel, Cyler was so excited while I’m a bit nervous because I really don’t like to ride, I’m afraid of heights (maybe because I don’t have the height, hehe). But I didn’t have the choice but to ride because the Ferris wheel was too small for his Daddy, so I accompanied Cyler to the Ferris wheel.

Pretending I’m brave here.. Hehe

Look how brave is Cyler, he was standing the whole ride. Wew!

I conquer my fear for my son’s happiness. For me, this is the most extraordinary thing about motherhood.

After our Ferris wheel ride, we entered the mini gymboree there. The kids was also entitled for 15 minutes use of the gymboree. Cyler enjoyed his stay there A LOT. Btw, the guardian and the kids should wear socks inside the play area, it’s their policy. I was force to buy their socks because I’m not wearing any socks then and I’m not prepared. Anyway, they used to sell socks and it costs Php15 pesos only.

Everybody put your hands up…

..and clap your hands!

Actually, he’s making pasikat here to his Lolo and Lola and to the rest of the family. πŸ™‚

He really loves the balls! Oh, balls! πŸ˜›

When our time is up, Cyler tried riding the car and again he likes it also. He was too fast, and too curious! πŸ™‚

Beep, beep! Make way for Cyler!

He was holding the wheel and the gear! Good job, Cyler!

Our little boy, Cyler drives like a pro!

After his first car ride, he tried the biplane. And oh boy, he likes it tremendously, not to mention he ride on the biplane thrice! Oh yeah, three times in a row! He started crying when we are about to leave the biplane and so we allowed him to ride again..and again, and again. #Kalerks!

Look at his facial expression here. F na F ang pagsakay!

He stand while riding in the biplane. My gulay!

He immensely enjoyed all his ride and he doesn’t want to leave the place. My gulay! Oh well, we are now surviving the toddler years! I am very happy because he enjoyed this day so much and I was able to see my relatives again. This doesn’t happen everyday that’s why it feels so great. And the best part of this day – the rides are all FREE! FREE! FREE! And we didn’t spend any penny! πŸ™‚

Thank you Brielle for this wonderful birthday bash! May you grow in love and with God. Happy Birthday, sweetie! XoXo

Happy birthday, little girl! We love you so muchoo!

The Little Snorlax

Sleeping is Cyler’s ultimate habit when he was still a little baby. Now that he is a toddler we can no longer force him to sleep because he can sleep on his own. His usual routine is to sleep, eat, play, sleep, eat, play, yadah-yadah, that’s the happy life of a baby (sarap noh? hehe). Well, one of my favorite things to do as a mother is to stare at my child while he’s sleeping, I love it, really. It may sound boring to other people but for me it’s not, looking at him while sleeping IS priceless. And it makes me feel proud every time I look at this little and cute creature, he brings immense joy to my heart.

Just wanna share some of Cyler’s adorable photos while he’s sleeping. He looks so cuteee while sleeping, most of the time I end up kissing his cheeks!

So, here it goes..

20120726-192200.jpg
How in the world can you resist that?! He’s my angel in disguise.

20120726-113841.jpg
His “I’m drunk with milk look”(tagay pa! este gatas pa!). He was three months old here.

20120726-113913.jpg
The old wive’s tale says “Kapag ang bata tumutuwad na pag natutulog, nanghihingi na daw ng kapatid”. Oh well, I say “di po totoo yun imagination lang nila yun.” Haha!

20120726-114038.jpg
Obviously, this is his favorite sleeping position.

20120726-114113.jpg
He looks soooo cute with this sleeping position!

20120726-114155.jpg
Showing some leegss! Woot! woot! :p

20120726-114347.jpg
Sorry Mommy, I got drunk with my milk again! Hik! :p

sleep like a big boy

20120726-114553.jpg
straight body and… cross legs?! (This photo was taken this morning)

These are just part of his many sleeping positions. Oh btw, Snorlax is a Pokemon species known as a sleeping pokemon.

He is the first thing that I see and think of when I wake up, and the last thing that I think of before I go to bed. I guess, I will just allow him to sleep on his own bed when he is old enough, uhmmm.. like 35 years old? I think that’s old enough. Hihi

Meet “Boy Tumbling”

If Bubble Gang show in GMA 7 has boy pick-up, my little bunny, Cyler is definitely the certified “boy tumbling” in our family.

20120725-155723.jpg

He always do this while watching tv, eating, playing, singing the Alphabet song, and even while talking with Mommy and Daddy. Oh boy, he does it everyday, I lost count already. I always hear his Lolo saying (or sometimes shouting) “Cyler, stop doing that!” because he got really nervous every time he see Cyler doing this thing.

20120725-155807.jpg

At first I was also nervous and at the same time shock when I saw him doing this but I guess it’s normal to every babies especially to toddler. The more I say “stop doing that”, the more he does it. Oh well, I know that he’s no longer an infant anymore.

20120725-155935.jpg

I read on SP magazine that kids really like seeing things upside down. And its normal to them because toddler behavior is very erratic, they want to try everything, as in everything. Every toddler mom knows that little kids cling to their routines like gum to a shoe. But whether a child behavior is irksome or worrisome, the good news is that most of these baffling behaviors are pretty normal and often fade away on their own.

After all, they’re notorious for being cute creatures of habit. πŸ™‚

The Angry Birds and the Happy Toddler!

Warning: This post is loaded with cuteness!

The Angry birds and the happy baby

My husband, Cj was fascinated with these fluffy angry birds stuff toys, he bought these cute and fluffy stuff toys at Clippers gift shop when Cyler was two-months old. This little boy didn’t appreciate it then, oh well, what do you expect from a two month old baby? Pasensya na, adik lang talaga yung asawa ko minsan. πŸ™‚

Anyhoo, Cyler is not a fan of stuff toys, he likes blocks and cubes so much, but these past few days we noticed that he started playing his stuff toys already and one of those stuff toys are his angry birds stuff toys. I feel glad cause finally he appreciates it because those angry birds are a bit pricey. LOL

His “Daddy, I’m waiting look”

Giggling to the highest level is dangerous to your tummy because it may cause gas pain. LOL

He likes playing these fluffy things together with his Daddy, they like throwingΒ  it at each other. That’s how they play it. Cyler, started giggling (to highest level) when his Daddy throw these fluffy bird in his face, siya lang ata ang taong natutuwa pag binabato sa muka. #Kalerks

His face never fails to lighten up every time he see these angry birds stuff toys. And he never fails to makes us happy too every time we see him happy. πŸ™‚

P.S. I feel a bit sad today not because of the gloomy weather, but because we’re supposed to go at Antipolo today to visit my family there but due to the bad weather we postponed our plan.Β *sigh* Our last visit there was last Christmas , I miss my hometown. I miss the fresh and cold air, I miss my friends and family there, I miss everything. #EmoterangFrogToday

Anyhoo, bad weather can be a threat to any family, so stay safe and take vitamin C, just stay at home to avoid any accident.

Meet Our New Love – Ygo’s Organics!!!

Friends, this is it! This is really, really is it is it – the revelation of our new love!

When we got the go signal from Dra. Vienne that we can introduce solid foods to Cyler , I decided to feed him natural and organic foods as mentioned from my previous post. That’s how OA, OC and praning I am. Oh well, what do you expect to a first-time Mom? Hihi Since I’m a working mom , I don’t have enough time to prepare his meal, so I always rush at Healthy Options to buy those mushy organic baby foods. For a busy Mom like me that’s the best food that I can give to my child. It’s 100% natural, free from artificial flavors, coloring, and preservatives. I am sure I’m giving the best to Cyler. From Jarred baby foods to snacks I only buy organic baby foods. I usually buy organic foods at Healthy Options because that’s the only store I know when it comes to organic foods. Until I found out from the awesome site Moomy Musings that there is an online shop for organic baby foods and it was Ygo’s Organics! And here’s the good news — they sell the items at a much, much lower price! My gulay! Nabuhay ang kuripot kong kaluluwa, as in!

Here’s what’s inside the blue-mysterious-plastic bag! Tadah!

Healthy goodness! πŸ™‚

More organic snacks for Cyler! Btw, here’s what I purchased to them:

1. Happy puffs- green – Php190
2. Happy munchies- brocolli – Php200
3. Snackin’ fruit hearts blueberry – Php99
4. Snackin’ fruit rings – Php99

The prices are very affordable, compare to Healthy Options. The best part of it- these are all 100% natural/organic πŸ™‚

When I read about Ygo’s Organics I immediately checked their online shop and was stumbled to their price list. It’s true, mas mura nga! *Wink* This frugalicious Mommy in me was super duper uber mega happy! πŸ™‚ After checking their products I immediately placed my order and asked for their payment options without thinking twice. As for the payment, you can pay through BDO or via Gcash. Plus we can now have healthy food delivered to our doorsteps. For shipping within Metro Manila there is an additional Php50 petot. Super sulit diba?! πŸ™‚ Mommy Karen is the mompreneur behind this awesome organic baby foods. She is also a health-conscious parent like us and so she decided to share this wonderful products to all of us. They used to sell baby food from Happy Baby, Earth’s Best, Plum Organics and Mum-mum.

Here’s Cyler while indulging his healthy snacks πŸ™‚

Cyler: Hmmm.. let’s see what I can get..
Mommy: Sweetie, that’s all the same!

Here’s how to eat with passion (close your eyes and taste it). πŸ™‚

Yum, yum, yum!

When I asked Mommy Karen how did they started, here’s what she says:

“When Ygo first started eating solids, we researched on the best food that he should first eat – vegetables and fruits with no salt or sugar. When he mastered his pincer grasp and can self-feed, we went looking for some finger-food as his snacks. We went to hunt for these healthy and delicious snacks. The hubby, being a flight steward, goes to the US at least once a month. He makes the necessary arrangements there for the purchase and shipment of the baby snacks to the Philippines. The first transaction marks the birth of Ygo’s Organics. Quality organic food products need not be unattainable for our precious babies. Cost and accessibility should not be a problem. That’s why we offer blended food, snacks and other yummy items from tested organic brands at a lower price. We know parents want only the best for their baby, as we want the same for our very own Ygos.”

Very well said, Mommy Karen! Oh well, you did a great job! You don’t know how happy we are when we found Ygo’s Organics, it’s a big help for all parents like us.

Having snack while playing, oh well, he can’t resist to eat this healthy goodness! πŸ™‚

I was so excited when the organic foods was delivered to me as mentioned from my previous post. I know all the mommies out there was excited to see what’s inside that plastic bag. Some of my friends and office mates keep on bugging and asking me what’s inside this mysterious plastic bag, some says it’s a lotion, shampoo, make up, and salad but it’s not! Pero Pwede na rin, pasok na sa Organic na clue. Hahaha!

Anyhoo, worry no more because buying organic foods is more affordable at Ygo’s Organics. Thank you, Ygo’s Organics for sharing this wonderful baby foods to all the hip and green parents like us! I Won’t Give Up

Yesterday, when I visited one of my favorite blogs Je’s Anatomy, I got really inspired by her post about marriage. She said that annulment is way too expensive for non-movie stars like us and I totally agree with her. Nowadays, people think that marriage is just a piece of contract between people called spouses that recognizes by law. But for me marriage is not all about the contract, it’s all about giving yourself to the one you REALLY love and being selfless. And it’s a lifetime commitment to your partner.

God created marriage because he doesn’t want us to be alone. When I got married everything was change because I realized that it’s not all about me, it’s about the two of us. You and your spouse become one after you get married. I always include my husband in all my decisions and plans in life now. And I learned how to value more my husband despite of our differences. Having a baby is a big challenge for the two of us. But we believe that we can make it through as long as we have each other.

This photo was taken last November 11,2010 – Our Big Day

My relationship with my husband, Cj became much deeper when we got married. My love for him grows more with each passing day. Marriage is like a roller coaster, that’s how it goes but we NEVER GIVE UP. That’s our promise to each other and with God. There are times when it feels like giving up but I try to be brave because I know I have my loving husband with me and God is with us. I came from a broken family but I never imagined that this will going to happen in my own family. No, I won’t let it happen, not even in my dreams. One thing is for sure — I am truly, madly, deepy inlove with my husband, Cj.

So, don’t let anything or someone ruin your marriage. I learned that trust, respect, and open communication are essentials to a happy marriage. Love is always there as long you respect and trust your husband/wife. Marriage is not synonymous to hell as Jerrelt mentioned from her post, it’s one of the greatest gift from God. At the end of the road it’s all about you and your partner in life.

Btw, I have a favorite song that I dedicated to my one and only love, Cj. The title of the song is I won’t give up from Jason Mraz. Listen to the music and feel the loooove. πŸ™‚

I won’t give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I’m giving you all my love
I’m still looking up

P.S. The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18).

Christmas in July

While I’m browsing and reminiscing Cyler’s baby photos, one of his photos suddenly caught my attention. This photo was taken last December 2011 when Cyler meet and greet Santa Claus for the very first time. Oh, I never experience that when I was a little kid. That’s why for me it was a magical moment for Cyler because my boy is one of the lucky kids who was able to meet Santa at the very young age. I know that Cyler didn’t appreciate it at that time but I know when he grow up and he see this picture of him together with Santa he will feel glad because he got the chance to meet Santa when he was still a little baby.

So here it is.. Guy’s meet and greet Santa Claus!

Cyler meets Santa! He was six months old here. πŸ™‚

Look how happy he is, though he didn’t know who is that white-bearded fat man wearing a red coat. They look soooo adorable! HO! HO! HO! πŸ˜›

Some kids began to cry when they saw Santa, surprisingly and luckily my little boy was able to sit and chat with Santa Claus! This was taken at Rustan’s Department Store, 3rd Floor at the Kids section area. We are looking forward to meet and greet Santa again this coming December! HO! HO! HO! πŸ™‚

My Blog’s New Look and Feel

I’m pretty sure that some of you will be shock when you see my site. Don’t worry you’re not entering a wrong site, this is still Kikay Mommy Sha’s blog however I modified my blog’s layout.

I decided to modify the layout because as mentioned from my previous post someone’s trying to.. you know what I mean if you’re visiting this site regularly. That’s why I made it more personalized. I’m not yet done with the header, I edited the header in paint that’s why if you will notice the pixels are not really good. Sorry for the poor resolution, pag tiisan nio muna yan at least for now. Hehe I’m not really good when it comes to graphic that’s why I’m still looking for someone who will make my header. Definitely, it’s not my hubby cause he’s not good in photoshop either. Hehe

Any comment and suggestions regarding my blog’s new look and feel?! Feel free to comment and suggest because I love to hear it! πŸ™‚

Happy Friday the 13th!

We all know that yesterday was Friday the 13th and I’m glad to say that it’s one of the luckiest day of my life because I got the chance to see and catched up with my kumare’s-slash-kikay barkada-slash-college buddies last night. We rarely see each other that’s why I feel very happy when we had the chance to see each other. We have separate lives right now but despite of our supah hectic schedule we make sure that we still have time for one another. My friends are one of my greatest treasure in life because they’re my family. I had them with me for the long haul and they are proven and tested. They say count your age by friends and not by years and I must say I have so many friends that I can consider true friends. True friends are hard to find and when you had the chance to meet them don’t ever try to loose them.

Meet Marla and Earleen. I fondly called them Marlita and Erlinda. πŸ™‚

Moving forward, last night we did our normal routine – eat, chat, and had fun. We had dinner together. I brought them at my favorite resto at Spaghetti Factory in Glorietta 5. Part of our dinner is our non-stop chikahan (catch up). Though we rarely see each other we make sure that nothing’s change and we know what’s happening to one another. They’re still uber kulit and crazy, I feel ageless when I’m with them. There is no dull moment with my girls, I must say.

Foodie + Friends + Fun = Happy Friday the 13th!

After having dinner, we had coffee at CBTL to continue the fun. We’re just laughing the whole night and didn’t mind the time. And indeed, we had a great time. I wish we have more time to for one another, to bond some more but I know it’s really different now. No matter how long we didn’t see each other our friendship will always remain. I love you both Mars (short for Kumare) and thank you for the wonderful time! It was a great time, yes it iz! Till our next kitakits! πŸ™‚

How about you? How’s your Friday the 13th?! πŸ™‚

So Call Me, Baby!

These past few days, we noticed that Cyler was so fascinated in the word “baby”. He always say “bey-bey” (as in Baby). Beside from hearing it from us, he also learned that from watching Brainy Baby ABC. He used to laugh when he see babies on the TV screen, not just an ordinary laugh — he literally laugh-out-loud with matching head banging. My gulay! He was really fascinated with babies these past few days and I wonder why…. Hmmm..

One night, I saw Cyler wrapping himself up in a blanket. But he looks so adorable! He pretends like a little baby here.

So call me, baby!

Spot the baby!

Just look how he struggle wrapping himself in the blanket. πŸ™‚

Oops! I’m too big for this blanket!

He was giggling when I’m calling him “baby”. What’s with the word baby?! I’m still clueless right now.

Giggling to the max!

It was nice to see him pretending like a little baby, I find it really cute. A baby pretending like a baby. Hehe

Look at those smile!

Sometimes, he keep on saying “bey-bey” while he’s crying. Oh, I really wonder why. Sweetie, you don’t have to pretend like a baby because you will always be my one and only baby! Okay?! Don’t get jealous, Hon because you’re also my baby.. my baby damulag! πŸ™‚

To Switch or Not to Switch?

I am thinking if I’m going to switch from WordPress to Blogspot because I want to put ads on my blog site but WordPress has so many restrictions when it comes to advertising. I’ve read on their forums that they don’t allow advertisement unless you have your own domain. So what is the best thing to do? Do you have any out of the box idea?

Another thing is.. I found out that someone’s imitating my ideas and blog posts.. Hmm.. I think every blogger should always include the name of the site where they get the idea and give the credits to that specific site, right? ITS always a must. This one (really) got me thinking.. Anyway, this is not my main reason why I want to switch my blog site. I guess, we can’t control the world-wide-web, but bear in mind that credibility and integrity is they key to a successful site.

Watchathink guys?! Can someone tell me what is the best thing to do?!

Geez!!! I need some light! @_@
