Before anything else let us all greet the birthday boy, my husband Cj. 🙂
Alright, so there you go, happy birthday Hon!
I discovered Esprimere Italian Deli at the awesome site Run Around Girl. Her post about this Italian deli/restaurant is indeed mouth-watering and convincing, so I decided that we will going to celebrate my husband’s birthday there. Esprimere Italian Deli is located at the heart of Ortigas, you need to have a keen eye for you to discover this wonderful place because the resto is quite tiny and you can find it at Pearl Plaza ground floor just across the University of Asia Pacific and a few blocks away from the Philippine Stock Exchange. Esprimere serves authentic Italian food, yes you read it right. They serve an authentic Italian food like cold cuts, cheese, roasts, pizza, pasta, wine, and beer.
They adopts a pay as you order system.
To those who fancy wine, this is definitely the perfect one for you.
Messages and signatures from their customers written in the wine bottles, I found it really cool and unique!
Esprimere may not be spacious but it grants a nostalgic and subtle feel that is perfect for a dinner date or just a friendly date.
Here’s a simple sign that hangs on one side of the large glass window; it is an Italian proverb that says, “At the table, you do not become old”. How nice, right? 🙂
The Italian deli doesn’t look inviting outside but once you entered the place it will take you to a different place. The warm lighting complimenting the tasteful light wood of the walls and furniture, evoking the feel of a modern and casual European eatery. They also plays some mellow music that makes the whole stay more homey and unpretentious, and it encourages you to hang out and enjoy a long meal if you please.
Lakas maka-segway! Actually, I’m not sure if Maxi dress nga yan, nagmuka lang maxi dress sa liit ko! Hahahaha!
I bet you’re wondering if it’s just the two of us, Cyler is with us however he was sleeping then, which is good kasi nakapag date kami ng bonggang-bongga ng walang istorbo! Chos!
A complimentary crisps was serve while we’re waiting for our order. Hubby and I like this a lot! I even asked for another round. Hehe
Here’s what we ordered:
I wanted orange juice however it is not available at that time, so hubby and I both ordered some fresh brewed tea.
Porchetta is an Italian Roast pork and it’s one of their best-seller here. It comes with side dishes of Parmesan-sprinkled potatoes and a side salad with your choice of dressing (anchovy, honey mustard and balsamic olive oil with capers as a dressing). I chose balsamic olive oil with capers, it was really good! Even hubby who is not fond of dressing likes it too!
Penne Arrabiata is just a spicy, tomato-based dish guaranteed to perk your appetite. You can have it plain but you can also add chicken, beef, or pork if you want to. We chose chicken for our pasta. I soooo love this pasta!!!! I have a high standard when it comes to pasta but I really like this one!
Since hubby is a certified carnivore (and it’s his day) we ordered an all meat pizza on thin crust, which is sinful but delish. All their pizza’s are on thin crust which is definitely a two-thumbs up for me! I’m not really into thick crust because the flour overpower the toppings.
The food was superb!! Our tummy was happy, full, and satisfied. 🙂
Again, happy birthday to the craziest man in the world! I love you and thanks for the birthday treat! Tahee! Sa uulitin! I bet you’re wondering what’s my gift to him (aside from TLC).. Oh well, I just gave him a pair of shoes from Aldo. And he liked it.. kasi siya pumili eh. Hehe
This is how he looked like after eating carbs on carbs on carbs!
Overall, we had a perfect Italian dining experience and we will definitely go back here to try their different Italian dishes! The service was really good, the staff was very pleasant, and the food was superb! What more can we ask for?! Waley na! Truly, Esprimere Italian Deli is the perfect pit stop for those days when you want some good authentic Italian deli. What is so terrific about Esprimere is that they make quality affordable. This place is definitely a must-try! We will surely go back here even if it’s really far from our place! 🙂
