This post is part of my 2012 backlogs. Sorry for that, my bad . This post has been sitting on my draft folder since the first week of January, finally today I was able to share it with y’all. We had a holiday getaway together with our friends during the last week of December. We used to have our Christmas celebration here in Tagaytay because we so love this place! As a matter of fact we used to celebrate our Christmas get-together here for over three years now. Aside from the fresh air and cold breeze, Tagaytay is the easiest and quickest getaway when you want to have a break from the hustle and bustle life in the city.
Side Kwento: We left Manila at around 9AM in the morning, we we’re in Sta.Rosa, Laguna at around 10AM and since our check-in time was 2pm we decided to go to Paseo de Sta.Rosa first. Whenever we go to Tagaytay, we make it a point that we drop by Paseo de Sta.Rosa to check out if we can score a great finds. This is a great place to shop because there are lots of factory outlets there, name it get it! This is definitely the perfect place for all shoppingera’s and shoppingero’s out there!
Here’s my OOTD!
We left Paseo de Sta.Rosa at around 11AM, off we went to Tagaytay. We had our lunch at The Cliff House. Whenever we go here we usually dine at Buon Giorno but since we wanted to try something different we decided to dine at Platito. They used to serve Filipino cuisine as you can see in the photo below. Our lunch turned into a brunch because of the food that we order. We ordered bangus, longganisa, spam with lotsa eggs! My friend, Jim who’s not a rice lover ordered some burger (BOOO!). Our order comes with three eggs! Parang hate na hate nila ang itlog dito noh? 🙂
The food price ranges from 100++ and above, it really is way cheaper compare to other Resto here in The Cliff House.
After our errr…egg-ish lunch we decided to go the Hotel. Off we went to Piña Colina Resort.
This year we didn’t stay at Hotel Dominic (our all time favorite Hotel in Tagaytay. Haha!), we reserved a two-story unit in Piña Colina Resort instead. For a change. This unit is good for 15-20 people, and did you know how many are we?! We are only six! KALOKA! So super kakalog-kalog kaming lahat dun sa bahay. Our three friends backed out on the same day, so we don’t have any choice but to avail it. We tried to asked the Receptionist if we can change our room, unfortunately they we’re fully booked at the moment. My gulay! So we didn’t have any choice but to get it, kahit masakit sa aming damdamin at bulsa.Ang mahal eh! Ang sakit sa bulsa! 😛
The only problem with this resort is that it’s quite difficult to find their exact location. They are located at Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay Highway, so you need to have a keen eye for you to be able to see it. I think it doesn’t really look like a resort, it looks more like a small village. Their staff was really kind and friendly though, which is a must for me. And they never failed to greet us with simple hi and hello whenever they pass on our way.
Anyhoo, here’s our casita (a.k.a semi-mansion sa sobrang laki):
The casita includes three bathrooms, three rooms, sala, and kitchen (with limited kitchen utensils. BOOOO!). The room can actually accommodate 4-6 persons since all rooms have double-bed. So can you imagine how big is this unit? It really is BIG! Pang isang barangay! NKKLK!
Here’s the view from our unit at night.
Very relaxing, right?!
We love being “KATUGA” (short for kain, tulog, gala) when we we’re here in Tagaytay. We have a simple routine here– sleep, watch TV, relax, eat, sleep, eat, watch TV, relax, and then gala. We continuously doing this every time we’re here. All we wanted to do is to relax, and feel that we are really in a nice vacation.
We had our dinner at our all time favorite resto and best ever bulaluhan in Tagaytay, none other than LZM Restaurant, of course wala ng iba pa! (insert BURP here)
After our bulalo-licious dinner, we went to Starbucks and grabbed some hot coffee. Since the place was jam-packed(as always and forever) we went back at the Hotel. We capped of the night with our exchange gift.
Side Kwento: Ayaw nilang mabunot ung popcorn ko! Hey, what’s wrong with the copcorn?! Chef Tony’s naman yan! HAHAHA! I was on my last minute Christmas shopping kasi so I wasn’t able to buy a descent gift at all. Excuses, excuses! I know! At the end, my husband got my gift! WAHAHAHAHA!
Andaya ng mga boys, pare-parehas ng mga gift! Puro baso ng starbucks, as you can see in the below photo. I got one! Bleh! So ang ending parang nag-exchange gift lang kaming dalawa ni Cj. LOL!
Cyler was already snoozing at that time, that’s why he’s not included in the photo. Funny thing is, we didn’t slept at the room, we slept at the sala instead. Andami kasing bed nung room feeling ko andami naming kasama sa room! Awooo! Waaaa! Okay, sige takutin ang sarili. Hehe
The morning came and it’s time to dip in the pool! Actually, we don’t have any plans to swim because the water was tooooo cold! But our toddler insisted! My gulay!
So there kahit below zero ang pool nag swimming pa din ang bagets together with the Daddy.
Dapat dun lang sila sa may stairs but then the little man go straight to the pool! So wala ng nagawa ang Daddy kung hindi maglublob sa freezer, este sa pool pala! 😛
After that freezing pool experience, it’s time to go home! And before we finally left the place I decided to pose for my OOTD! Medyo annoying lang ung itsura ko dyan pero keribels na! 😛
Before we went back to Manila, we had our lunch at Pig Out, Nuvali in Laguna.
These is what we ordered. Pang diet lang, diba? Hehe The food was great especially their chicken! The 3rd photo in the upper right. The meat was tender and tasty. I didn’t like the mussels, I found the taste weird. Really weird. Anyway, we had it for free because of my Bistro Card. Their sisig rice is okay, but Fely J’s sisig rice is way better for me. The crispy-pata is fine, it wasn’t too crispy.
Cyler enjoyed watching the Koi on the fish pond. In fact, he doesn’t like to leave the place anymore. Andaming Koi feeling ko nagkaka-stampede na sila dun sa pond! As in!
Well, aside from the food trip and great place, one thing I enjoyed the most– being with the best people in the world, my friends and family! Nothing can really beat that… ever! 🙂
