I love this part of San Juan, New Manila where La Creperie is located at because it’s the only place in the metro which is quite peaceful, clean, and quiet. Cj and I love the structure of the houses here, if one day we win in the lottery we’ll surely buy a house and lot here. Well, the big question is…. tumataya ba kami sa lotto? Well, all I can say is…it’s for you to find out! LOL! Anyway, going back to the story… usually napapadaan lang kami dito sa part ng New Manila but last Saturday night when we passed by this street I accidentally saw La Creperie. I’ve always wanted to try this resto but the thing is… I’m too lazy to google it so I don’t know where it is located. Thanks heaven I discovered La Creperie last weekend. Feeling ko it’s really meant to be! Chos! :p
Last Tuesday, I celebrated my birthday at Movie Stars Cafe, Mall of Asia. It was sponsored by Mommy Blogger Philippines (Thanks a lot, Ms. Lani!) and Movie Stars Cafe so imagine how happy I was on my special day. I definitely had an extravagant and extra-ordinary birthday celebration here at Movie Stars Cafe. I did enjoy everything– from the superb food to the excellent service and to their one of a kind theme. They definitely have it all!
Just a couple of weeks ago, my entire family went to Trinity Ihaw-Ihaw and Food House at Dampa, Macapagal Blvd. to celebrate Papa Semmy’s (my Tito-in-Law) birthday. He is Cj’s maternal uncle and he’s also a balik-bayan so bringing him to a different place in Manila is a one of a kind experience for him. This family lunch was a surprised birthday treat for Papa Semmy and Mama Encar (her wife) and they don’t have any idea then kung san namin sila dadalhin. Papa Semmy loves seafood so we decided to bring him at Dampa. Here in the Philippines, Dampa is indeed a seafood haven! It’s the perfect place to go to satisfy your seafood cravings.
After an MMK post, how about we start the year with a mouth-watering post?! 🙂
Last weekend, we went to Tong Yang, Megmall and celebrated the birthday of Tita Nadine (Cj’s Aunt). The entire Montegrejo clan (Cj’s mother’s side) were all there to celebrate this wonderful day. It was my very first time to try Tong Yang and in fairness it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed this because I really love shabu-shabu. Cyler enjoyed his unli-rice and veggies too, well except this photo-op below. LOL!
Aside from Italian cuisine, one of the dishes that Cj and I really love the most is Japanese cuisine most particularly ramen. Whenever were out for dinner one the restaurants that we used to search for is Japanese resto and since I used to cook pasta dishes most of the time. Cj and I don’t always agree with each other when it comes to food since he’s a terrible picky-eater but there’s only one food that we always agree on– Japanese food! Because we both love it.
Hi everyone! Good dawn! It’s already 2am-ish as I write this post. My energy and brain cells are so drained at this point of time and guess what! I’m still in the office! Yay…. not! I’m soooooo tired and sleepy but I have to work on so many things. Is there any vitamins that can regenerate brain cells? I need it now! As in now na!
So while I’m recharging some energy I decided to make this post and share this super easy recipe to y’all. This post has been sitting in my drafts for quite some time now and I guess this is the perfect time to share this because it’s weekend! And weekend means more time for the family and more time to prepare meals for the family! How I wish I can still do that when I get home later, for sure I’ll be snoozing the whole day because I haven’t slept for more than 24hrs! Zombie mode it is!
I really thought that it’s so impossible to make your own pesto sauce at home kasi feeling ko ang hirap nyang gawin but boy oh boy….. I was wrong! Totally wrong! Just a few weeks ago, I decided to make a fresh basil pesto sauce from scratch so I asked my very reliable friend, Mr. Google for the recipe. When I saw the recipe in the world-wide-web I was thrilled because the ingredients are so easy to find in the market plus the recipe was so easy to do! It’s indeed a no-brainer recipe, all you need is food processor, basil, nuts, and garlic and you’re good to go! As easy as that!
I know andami ko ng utang na recipes sa inio! I kept on posting dishes that I cooked for the past few weeks pero walang recipe. My bad! Sorry. I’m really sorry for the lack of post and time, I bet all parents can relate to me most especially if your working and you have a family who demands for your time, love and care. There are times when I really don’t know how I will divide myself into so many things; household chores, family, love life, work, my small business, etc. But thank God because He gave me a spare time tonight para makapag-blog, so let’s try to catch up, ok?! I really think that I’m losing my blogging mojo nowadays due to my insane schedule. I used to go home really late for the past few weeks so I’d rather spend my free time with Cyler and Cj than to blog. I have lots of pending sponsored post too. Uuuggggh! And I don’t even have enough time to check or even update my small business, Sweet Treats FB Page. And did I mention that I miss blog hopping too? Yep, I miss reading my favorite blogs. Just like the previous days (read it here and here), our 3rd day here in Hong Kong went the same– work, work, work, foodtrip, work, work, work, foodtrip, shopping. The only difference is mas madami ata akong nalafang nitong araw na’to na-stress kasi ako ng bongga sa trabaho. Feeling ko talaga andami kong nakain or sadyang feelingera lang ako? LOL! Which is which? Okay, you decide nalang. Teehee! 😛
Here’s what I had for breakfast. Take note: Breakfast palang yan at diet pako nyan. LOL! #WalaNgBukasTeh?
Our days in Hong Kong is all about work and pigging out. We used the to leave hotel at 8:30 in the morning then go to work and leave the office around 6:30PM or 7PM so most of the time the mall is about to close whenever we went there. Kaya food trip nalang talaga kami bumabawi. I don’t even had a chance to take pictures during day time since we used to leave the hotel really early, we spent most of our time in the office since that’s our main purpose why we are here. But of course, we tried our very best to enjoy this trip. We planned several times to go to Mongkok where the night market is but we always ended up going to City Plaza, the nearest mall in our hotel. There is also a terminal of MTR (train station) near our hotel which is just a few steps away but we were already dead tired after work so we ended up fighting our stress by enjoying food. Pigging out, that is.
This is my view from my room, you can see the neighborhood of Taikoo Shing from the window. And you know what? People here are not so usi like us. Parang they don’t even care if kitang-kita ka nila from their windows, they won’t even look at you so you will never feel intimidated or irritated too which is a good thing especially for ladies, like me. This window is power window, if you want to close it you just have to press a button and it will automatically close. So usually, every morning ko lang sya binu-buksan then I closed it when I arrived at night .
My trip to Hong Kong was an unplanned business trip, t’was biglaan mga ateng. The project that we were handling was so critical and we need an immediate response from our clients so my boss decided to send us to HK where our clients are. We were just having a meeting last Friday, then the next thing we know we were already in HK. So I’m not really prepared about it. I wasn’t able to bring a descent camera(uggggh!) either, I only use my phone camera the whole trip. You know naman how I love taking photos! Isang malaking uggggh! talaga for me. So please forgive my not so nice photos. A week before my trip our dslr just hit the number of click so it needs a clicker replacement which we haven’t done yet dahil hindi ko naman alam na ipapatapon ako ng biglaan sa HK. I’m not even sure if it’s the clicker nga, it’s working naman but once you trigger the clicker nothings happening. So baka clicker nga. Does anyone encountered the same too? And do you guys have any idea how much the clicker is?
Anyway, going back to my trip. Our departure was at 2PM in the afternoon, I left the house at 8:30 in the morning because I was expecting traffic since it was rush-hour then but to my surprised there’s no any trace of traffic. We rented a cab then since our car was coding too that’s why we allotted so much travel time going to the airport. Too much allotted travel time that I arrived too early in the airport. Eggsayted much lang. LOL! So we were in the airport at around 9:30AM. I was too early for my flight, I was supposed to be there at 11AM pa since my flight is at 2pm. It’s the terminal’s policy that you should be at the airport 3 hours before the departure time if it’s an international flight. So I waited for about more than 4 hours! Such a waste of time tapos delayed pa yung flight. Oh well, what do I expect? It’s more fun in the Philippines, right?! 😛
This is my favorite part of our flight, taking video of the sky. I found it so relaxing for the mind and soul. It feels literally like I was in heaven! 🙂
People need to eat. That’s a given fact. But with our active, busy lifestyles, oftentimes we find ourselves without the time or the energy to prepare a decent meal, that is, if we even know how to cook in the first place. For us, the usual option is to order food for takeout or delivery, or just rely on bland, ready-to-eat items like canned goods or processed meats.
The people at Bounty Fresh know that this shouldn’t be the case. As the first Philippine company to win the Best Poultry and Livestock Company Award at the 2009 Asian Livestock Industry Awards, Bounty Fresh continues to provide delicious and top-quality chicken products, making it deserve its tag as being “Asia’s Best.”
Last Friday, I received a sweet and yummy surprise from King Sue and it really made my day! I was really happy when I received the package from King Sue and I was thrilled when I opened it and saw these yummy goodies. I was really surprised and speechless when they left a comment in one of my post at Instagram and asked me if they can send some of their products to me. Of course, hindi nako nagpakipot pa (di na uso yan sa panahon ngaun!) and I agreed to them immediately and gave my email address. LOL! 😛
I’m pretty sure you’ve been all waiting for this recipe so here it is! This recipe got a number of likes when I posted it in IG and FB and I’ve got a lot of queries about the recipe so today the long wait is over for those who are asking. I am just really happy that this recipe turned out just the way I like it. Our entire household love this dish too most especially my husband and my mother-in-law. Mommy (my MIL) said that it taste almost like a sizzling pork, if you’re not aware that it’s a tofu then most likely you would’ve thought that it is made of pork. Cj who seldom eat tofu surprisingly like this dish too. In fact, he can’t help himself from eating it hanggang sa maubos na. It’s supposed to be for our dinner but it was gone with the wind before I knew it. Oh nothing beats the compliment that I got from my family. Btw, this recipe was adopted from Max’s sizzling tofu recipe.
Now let’s move on to the recipe itself. Eggcited naba kayo? 🙂
Thank God it’s Friday!! YAY! Friday na! Friday na! Ang saya saya!(Repeat100x)
Can’t wait for the weekend and be with my two boys the entire day! Just having the thought of weekend makes me feel so excited and thrilled ng bonggang bongga! Hindi naman masyado halata noh? Do you guys feel the same way too? I bet you feel the same way too! Excited nakong ilabas ang pagiging Domesticated Goddess ko! LOL!
Anyway, do you have any date/plans tonight? Me, I don’t have any plans for tonight I just wanna go home after work and relax together with my boys. Actually, Cj and I already had a dinner date last night. We ate in one of our favorite affordable Italian resto in Glorietta. The restaurant’s name is Spaghetti Factory, halos ata lahat ng friends ko nadala ko na dito and in fairness they all love the food here. It’s not only delcious it’s also affordable! Spaghetti Factory is located at the 2nd level of newly renovated Glorietta 1. They’re previously located at Glorietta 5 then transferred here at Glorietta 1. I already blogged Spaghetti Factory (read here) a year ago when I dine here together with my friends, Earleen and Marla . I remember that it was also Friday the 13th. Watta coincidence, right?!
Anyhoo, going back to the topic. I ordered Spinach Ravioli. It cost Php259, I love the creaminess and taste of the spinach filling. Anything with spinach is a big hit for me. The creaminess of spinach really goes well with the pasta sauce. However I was a bit disappointed with the pasta because it wasn’t cook tenderly. Or maybe the cook was tired already because we went here when the mall was about to close.
Hello guys! I’m back
balakubak! Sorry for the lack of post for the past two days! It’s not that I don’t have anything to share in fact I have lots of pending post in my drafts. Actually, nagpapa-miss lang talaga ako. LOL! #AsIfMayNakaMiss Anyhoot, grabe pinagod ako ni Cj last weekend! As you all know last Saturday, we celebrated Cj’s 30th birthday (batang bata!) at home. Sa house kami nag celebrate as per the birthday boy’s request, I spent my entire day being their cook-slash-yaya-dakilang asawa-slash-serbidora-slash-dish washer kulang nalang taga laba. That’s why I was literally tired the entire weekend. I’m not complaining though besides it’s his big day so pagbigyan, once a year lang naman. The birthday boy, Cj had the time of his life on his special day. I advised him to relax so he was just lounging, eating, and watching his favorite movies the entire day together with our unico hijo, Cyler while I on the other side are so busy in the kitchen preparing and cooking for our food.
So here’s what happened the entire day.
Hello world! It’s a wonderful day today! The sun is up and smiling! How’s your week so far? Mine is quite good, hindi masyadong loaded sa work (Thank you, Lord!) which is good because I’m still sick. Don’t worry lumalaklak nako ng gamot at Vitamin C. Sad to say Cyler got the bug already. He was coughing the entire night and he barely got any sleep. Poor little baby. Our household was getting attack by cold virus. Uggggh! I hate to say this but I super kaduper hate it! Damn this cold virus! I haven’t been sick in a long time and this damn cold virus is giving us a hard time. Buti kung ako lang kaso hindi! Megad!
Anyway, moving on with my Pacham Pasta dish. Do you know why it’s called “Pacham”? Simply because it’s a pachamba-chamba dish! Chambahan lang talaga. There is no specific ingredients here I just used whatever is available in our pantry. I guess, if you’re a Mom you should really know how to invent in the kitchen, used whatever ingredients is available in your pantry and cook it. This dish is supposed to be a veggie soup but I ended up making pasta sauce instead. Ze husband requested for pasta so I ended up cooking Pacham pasta dish. Obviously, we do love pasta so much because aside from the fact that it’s super easy to cook and it is also deliciously healthy too!
And in fairness, this pacham pasta dish didn’t disappoint. My husband, Cj and my toddler, Cyler liked it so much as well as my in-laws. 🙂
For this pacham pasta dish, here’s watchunid:
As promise! Here’s my version of french toast recipe. But before that chika minute muna. Remember when I told you guys that I feel sort of under the weather? Today, natuluyan na sya! I’m super sick! I have colds and cough and worst…nahawa na din si Cyler sakin. We co-sleep kasi that’s why ang bilis nahawa ng bagets. Hayayay!
