Just a couple of weeks ago, we celebrated my sister and my cousin’s birthday in my hometown, Antipolo. Yep, it was a back-t0-back birthday celebration and it was double the fun and double the happy and crazy memories! Did I mention before that I have the craziest family ever?! If I haven’t well, I am telling you now that I have the silliest, funniest, and craziest family EVER! Wag na kayong magtaka kung bakit nagka-ganito din ako. WAHAHAHA! May kasabihan nga tayo…. “mana-mana lang yan!”. LOL! Continue reading
It’s getting hotter and hotter everyday here in the Philippines so most of the people are craving for something cold to eat or even drink. Eating ice-cream is indeed our number heat-buster. So I guess this post is on right timing since its summeeeeerrrrr! I know some people who doesn’t like eating avocado because it has a bitter aftertaste but when they tried this avocado ice-cream they begun to appreciate the goodness of avocado. I know it’s really hard to love their silky texture and versatile flavor BUT did you know that avocado has bunch of health benefits? Yes, this fruit is rich in nutrients and vitamins. And it also considered as one of the healthiest food in the planet. Peksman! If you still don’t believe me read this (click this link). Continue reading
I noticed that nowadays some people tend to forget the real essence of Easter Sunday. I’m no Saint neither a preacher but I just wanted to remind all of us that Easter is about celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Bear in mind that Jesus Christ sacrificed his own life just to save us from our sins so let us not forget the real meaning and purpose of Easter Sunday. It’s not about the Easter bunnies and candies that we used to get at Easter celebrations.
Before the Lenten month ends I just wanted to share our memorable Holy Week that my family spent at my hometown, Antipolo. It’s our family’s tradition to spend our Holy Week break in Antipolo, I bet most Filipinos do the same thing too. It feels good to share all my childhood memories (here in my hometown) with my son because this is the place where I grew up. Lahat ng kanto, lahat ng sulok ng lugar nato ay punong puno ng masasaya (at malungkot) na karanasan. Continue reading
It’s been awhile since I went home to Antipolo, my hometown. The last time we’ve been here was when my Tito died (sigh) last month. And it feels so good to be back! Sobra! I feel rejuvenated. I so love my hometown and I had so many great memories in this place because I’ve been here since the day I was born, the only time I left my hometown was when I got married to Cj. You know if I will be given a chance to live again, I will still choose to live here in Antipolo. This place is such a wonderful place to be most especially when I want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the metro.
And since I miss my family so much we decided to pay a visit to my hometown last weekend. The weather wasn’t good when we reached Sumulong Hi-way and the road was zero visibility already! But don’t worry, we’re all good and we have arrived home safely. 🙂
Oh before we headed to Antipolo we dropped by at Robinson’s metro east in Cainta to delivered these cupcakes to the winner of TSN‘s giveaway. The name of the winner is Diane and glad to know that she liked the cupcakes! Yay! As a matter of fact, she wrote a sweet post on her blog(yes, she’s a blogger too! Small world right?) for Sweet Treats you can read it here. Thanks a lot, Diane and nice meeting you! 🙂
After delivering the cupcakes off we went to Antipolo! Weeeee! 🙂
We spent our Holy Week in my hometown, Antipolo. And one of the things that we did during the long weekend was to celebrate my sibling’s graduation at Loreland Farm Resort. T’was my Graduation treat for her and it’s actually a pre-grad celebration. It was also unplanned, talk about biglaang lakad, you know. One thing I love about biglaang lakad? Natutuloy parati at bawal ang excuses! Agree? 🙂
My youngest brother(who is btw a certified pa-girl!), Kevin and my cousin, Rex.
Kung sila ba ang mowdels ng resort na’to tutuloy pa rin ba kau?! Chos!
We arrived at 9am-ish and as expected the resort was jam-packed already! Anyway, it’s not a big deal because we were there to have fun and not to count the number of people. We prepared tilapia, chicken bbq, tuna pasta (in red sauce), cupcakes, and lots of junk food!
Would you believe sa tinagal tagal kong nakatira sa Antipolo it is actually my first time to go here? Yes, it’s my first time to go here (paulit-ulit?) to think na sampung tumbling at kembot lang yan from our house. Weird? IKR! 🙂
Loreland Farm Resort is 15-20 minutes drive from Antipolo Cathedral Church and from our house. The resort is quite old but well maintained (in fairness). They also have zipline, restaurant, food stalls, mini-playground, chapel, sports and recreations, and spa inside the resort. Hindi ka mauubusan ng gagawin unless super dami talaga ng tao. They also have lots of swimming pools not to mention kiddie pools! Yes, mas madaming kiddie pools kesa sa adult pool so expect warmer water in the swimming pools…if you know what I mean. They also have many cottages kaya perfect sya kung isang barangay pa kau! This resort is perfect for any kind of family gatherings because of it’s ample space. We booked the Kubo and it only cost Php700 petot only. The entrance fee cost Php160/head during daytime and Php180/head during nightime, children 3ft and below is free of charge. They also have rooms if you wish to stay overnight. And they also have an overlooking view where you can see Laguna Bay from the resort.
I’ve heard 7Ft is their deepest pool (todo na yan!), most of the pools are 4-5ft only kaya naman ang saya saya namin magkakapatid especially Cyler! Ang dami namin pwedeng lakaran! HAHAHA! Ang hirap maging pandakekok eh noh! And you know what?! I already forgot how to swim kaya lakad mode lang lola ninyo. NKKLK! Ewan ko ang weird noh pati pala swimming skills nakakalimutan! LOL! O baka ako lang yun? Hahaha! Anyway, we did enjoy! Super! 🙂
Our “kung kaya ni Mister, kaya ni misis” pose!
Meet Mama and my siblings! We are BIG family and I love it! Our eldest sister wasn’t there though, she’s currently working in Saudi so we’re not complete in this impromptu family picture.
From L-to-R: Sacha (5th), Kevin (6th), Ate Annie (2nd to the eldest), Mama (ang pinaka bata sa lahat! Batang isip! hehe), Isang (4th), and I (3rd)!
And here’s my blissful child who loves the water SO MUCH!
ligalig na ligalig sa tubig!
Anak family picture din pag may time. Sensya na ayaw paawat sa tubig eh! Teehee!
Me: Hon, naiisip mo ba ang naiisip ko?
Oh what FUN! I really miss my family so much! It’s been awhile since we hung out together, I hope next time kumpleto na kami. Ate Donna, if your reading this post… uwi uwi din pag may time, OKAY?! :p
Still there’s no other place like “home”. 🙂

One long weekend a couple of weeks ago (yes, this is part of our family trips backlogs), we went to Antipolo (my howetown) and stayed at Mama’s place. We arrived there at Friday afternoon then we went back to Manila on Saturday afternoon. We stayed there for two days and 1 night only because we need to go back to Manila before Sunday morning as Cj has to work on that day. BOOOO! Our stay there was full of fun although we stayed for two days only. We just maximized our time with the whole family.
When we arrived, I immediately cooked my eggplant parmigiana (check the recipe here) because it’s my nephew’s 10th Birthday and they requested for it. We had a birthday cake, macaroons, pasta, and prepared some fruit salad for his birthday, and viola! We had a simple, fun-filled, and crazy celebration for his 10th birthday. The birthday celebrant, Steffano is my eldest nephew and the first grandson of Mama.
The family was almost complete, sad to say my eldest sister wasn’t there because she’s currently working in Saudi as a nurse. But her hubby and son was there to celebrate with us, which is good. I miss my nephew’s and niece so much! Oh-my-gulay! Having two toddlers in the house was a riot! They we’re running, yelling, dancing, jumping, yadah-yadah! It seemed like there’s a chaos, it’s crazy but everybody’s happy especially the birthday celebrant.
After the celebration, we visited my maternal grandfather’s grave. We prayed and stay there for awhile. After that we headed to Ynare’s Center where there is a mini-carnival, food, and bazaar! Well that sent chills to my spine! The kids we’re so excited for the rides while the kids at heart (especially me!) we’re so excited for the bazaar!
This place is one of my favorite place here in Antipolo once the Christmas season comes over. I used to go here together with my family and friends back then. And it never fails to make us feel happy and giddy! Actually, I’m not into the rides(I shudder and faint everytime I ride), I’m really into the foods and tiangge (Filipino term for bazaar), of course! Oh how I miss this place and everything about it. We had our dinner here, we had chicken and pork barbecue’s! I so love the chicken bbq and the liempo, it was a sinful but delectable delish dish! Sad to say I wasn’t able to take photos of it because I’m darn excited to eat it! We decided to go home after our sumptuous barbecue dinner because the kiddos we’re already tired.
The sad part is I wasn’t able to visit all the stores. LOL! Oh yes, the shoppingera in me was talking here. But I was able to purchased one dress for 350 bucks, necklace for 100 bucks, cap for Cyler (the one his wearing in the above images) for 75 bucks with name engraved on it, and toys for my nephew and niece for 20 bucks only. I guess that’s way cheaper compare to the mall, right?!
The morning came and it’s time to go home. Hay. Overall, we all had fun and had a great time. We’ll surely do it on December when we go back there. And this time I’ll make sure I’ll visit all the stores! Tee hee!
Don’t we just love long weekends?! 🙂
Happy Friday, everyone! 😉
Hooray for the looong vacay! Last week we spent our long vacay in Antipolo (my hometown). Boy oh boy, we had a wonderful stay there, sad to say hubby didn’t enjoy his vacation that much because he has work to do. BOOO! He was working on Sunday and Monday, now how terrible is that, right? Anyhoo, it was Cyler’s 3rd time here, still everything seems new to him. Everyone was so happy to see him again after six months. You know what he did in our whole stay there? He walked and played A LOT, as in A LOT! Our house is a bit spacious so he had a wide space for running. So my little one runs here and there, he’s so handful! We can’t let him run alone because he’s still in a stage of balancing. So everyone’s patience and energy was tested by Cyler. Tahee! 🙂
We also celebrated Mommy’s (Cyler’s great grandma) 85th birthday, that’s the main purpose of our vacation. We want to be part of Mommy’s special day. Could you imagine she’s 85 years old now, I wish I can live that long. Thank God for giving her a wonderful life and hopefully more years to live.
Day 1: Play all day long!
Our little bookworm was also mesmerize with the bookshelf in our house, however I forgot to take photos of him. We have lots of books in our house because my late grandfather loves reading so much.
Day 2: Mommy’s 85th Birthday Bash!
We also went to Antipolo Cathedral. They built a mall in front of the Cathedral, which I don’t really like. The attention of the people are diverted to the mall which is not good. I believe, the Church should be the center of all and this place should be holy. Anyway, wala nakong magagawa andyan na yan. This is just my point of view.
I am the official photographer that day that’s why I am not included on the photos, as you can see. But wait, I have my solo picture! Hahaha! Kala ninyo ah! 😛
Before bed time, Cyler played with his Tita and Lola! 🙂
Day 3: Walking and Baking!
Manang mana sa pinag-manahan! 🙂
Oh well, like what I said in my previous post our stay there was not enough, super bitin! Cyler enjoyed his vacation there so much, I bet if he can talk he will tell me that he doesn’t want to go home yet. Hay. Anyway, there’s still more time, sweetie. It feels so great because I spent quality time with my family, unfortunately I wasn’t able to meet my friends because I wanted to give my whole time to my family. But I will definitely meet them on our next vacation there. Truly, a four day long weekend is a luxury to all working parents like us.
Also, I wish that God will give Mommy more time to live, if only I can stay beside her all the time and take good care of her, I will. But I also have my own family who needs me and I have my work here in Manila. Oh life. I know God is always with her, and I leave everything unto Him.
Life is indeed wonderful when you spend it with your beloved family. 🙂
