Life is a matter of choice

Hi everyone! I’m back! I know that this blog has been in hiatus for quite some time now, in as much as I want to write unfortunately I can’t due to some circumstances in life (big word, I know). These past few weeks has been a very busy, horrible, and craaaaaazy week for me! Pag may pinag dadaanan ka you can’t actually think of anything, right? Parang you just want to spend your time with your kids (if you have kids) or with your husband and forget all your problems. This blog take a back seat for the past weeks and I’m so sorry for that. If you’re an avid reader of this blog I bet you know that I’m dealing with some difficulties in the past few weeks. My problem is all about work but I guess today I’m ready to share it with y’all.

Life is….

…not the heavenly bliss that many see it for. Sometimes it’s cruel and you just have to live with it. So when the time comes that you feel like crying and you feel all alone just dwell on these quote from Mother Teresa, I hope it move you just the way it move me.

โ€œLife is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.โ€

-Mother Teresa

And also I want to share this song, it’s Who am I by Casting Crowns. It’s the song that inspired me during my most difficult and trying times. It’s like a prayer of hope to those who are helpless, confuse, and at loss. So feel free to listen and have a good time with the Lord. Remember the love of God for us is extravagant and he will never (ever!) leave you nor forsake you. ๐Ÿ™‚

So chin up and move forward remember that life’s a beautiful thing and a greatest gift from God. Think of happy thoughts, there’s so much to smile about! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Weekend, everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

A Sweet Surprise From My Boys!

Don’t you just love surprises?! I definitely love it and I bet everyone else loves it too! Sino ba namang hindi, diba?! Naman! Yesterday, my boys surprised Mom-me! It was morning then when I saw something different inside my bag, it wasn’t fishy but it catched my whole attention because I know this thing doesn’t belong to me. And guess what, I found out that my bag was played by someone else when I am not around. And I bet you all know who is the culprit…. yes, it’s my toddler.

Cyler: Mommy guess what?! I have a surprise for you!

Mommy: You do? What could it be?!

Look closely inside my bag, can you guess what it is?!

He left his….. drumstick on Mommy’s bag! Such a silly and sweet little boy! Oh what joy! Can you feel how surprised I was?! Abot langit!

I bet the reason why he left it in my bag is because he wants Mommy to remember him all the time. Sweetie, your always in my mind and in my heart every seconds of my life, no matter what I’m doing and wherever I go your the only one that I could think of. That’s how I love you, sweetheart.

But the question is… Anong gagawin ni Mommy sa drumstick?! Next time anak ilagay mo na din ung drum para magamit ko naman yung drumstick. Sayang effort mo eh. LOL

And oh but wait there’s more! Daddy has a surprise for Mommy too! Di ata magpapahuli si Daddy!

The hubby gave me a VS Body Mist. He gave it to me yesterday morning before we go to work, and I was really surprised because he gave it to me out
of the blue. It seldom happens that’s why I feel glad, happy and was really surprised kasi nuknukan ng kuripot yang asawa ko! As in! But then he knew that I love perfumes and body mist so much that’s why he gave me one although I still have lots of perfumes stock in our cabinet. I really thought that he was just joking around and making fun of me(because he always bully me!) but I am wrong. From that moment I felt like I have butterflies on my tummy, lakas maka highschool ng feeling, kinilig ako ng bonggang bongga! I hugged him tight and whisper… “Nagdidiliryo kaba, Hon?”. Hehe

Pero napaisip ako bigla.. baka ang baho ko kaya nya ko binigyan ng pabango! LOL!

I know, I know these are just material things but it was extra-bonggels and special for me because it came from my boys, my true love, my family. My life. My joy. My happiness. My heart. My everything. And nothing really beat that! Thank you guys for surprising Mom-me! I really appreciate it! Oh how I love you so!!!!! *group hug*

P.S Thank you Lord for bringing joy into my life. And thank you for giving me a wonderful and happy family. My very loving husband, Cj and our happy active baby, Cyler is too much blessing and I could not ask for more. I O U a lot! Thanks again!

Spending Me Time In God’s Presence

I love spending me-time at the spa because I love the feeling of getting pampered after a long stressful day at work. I also love spending it with my good old friends or with hubby but this time it was a bit different, I didn’t spend any penny here, all I did was to give my little time with Him. Last night, I spent my me time with God. It’s been a long time since we have a heart-to-heart talk and I really miss it. I was very active then in our Church when I was younger, I love attending prayer meetings and bible studies and that is what I really miss the most. I feel like there is something lacking in my life and I guess that’s my spiritual needs. Making time for God is hard sometimes when there is so much to do but I guess spending time with God is the most basic thing we need in order to grow. You know what? Sometimes I feel guilty because I didn’t notice that God is working in my life and that he is there especially in times of pain and trouble. There are times when I forgot to pray because my mind is preoccupied of so many things and I came to the point where in I forgot to ask for His forgiveness and forgot to give thanks. And so last night, I decided to be with Him even for a little time. I know this little time with Him will make a big difference.

I realize that aside from physical and mental needs we also have spiritual needs. My soul was rejuvenated after hearing the words of God and from that everything follows– my mind and my body. It’s like I’m having spa for my soul, and its like a refreshing breeze on a hot summer day. I feel more relaxed and at peace after attending the mass and hearing the words of God. It made me realize that every life is beautiful and wonderful as long as God is the center of your life. I know sometimes life is not always what we want it to be but as long as your faith in God is there you will never feel the emptiness inside of you.

After having a soul spa, my soul was indeed restore, my heart was filled with so much joy, and my mind is renewed. Truly, God is working in our life, just open your heart and mind, and you will see it. I’m no saint, not at all but I’m sharing this because I know some of you may feel the same way I do. Many times, we feel that there isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done. Time, something we wish we had more of, but it just seems to slip so quickly. I guess all we need is to assess our priorities and put God first in everything we do, a little prayer in the morning and before bedtime will make a big difference. Just always remember this bible verse:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-38

Now the question is how can we do this? I believe the most important way of doing this is remembering this bible verse and loving God with all heart, by doing these simple things everything will follow according to God’s will. Me time is the perfect time to give glory to the Lord. And I just had the perfect time of my life last night, it was indeed a wonderful time with God. Keep praying and don’t get tired of waiting for the answer, God is preparing something really good for you and he will give it to you in God’s perfect time. I guess God answered my prayers because I already received the greatest gift from Him– which of course my family! I grew up in a broken family but I never lose hope until he gave Cj and Cyler to me. They are the most precious gift that I received from God. So, let’s keep our faith in Him and be patience because He has a better plan for all of us. ๐Ÿ™‚

How about you? When was the last time you spend time with Him? Share it with me! I’d love to hear from you!

Happy Weekend everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

In Times of Calamity

What’s happening right now is beyond our control. What I think of yesterday’s situation is that it was a reminder to everyone that we should worship the Lord no matter what the situation may be. I know it getting scarier now, especially when you have your kids with you. What happened yesterday is no longer surprising, there’s no such thing as flood free in this country, but we should always prepare ourselves in every circumstances. Yesterday, we don’t have electricity, the floods are everywhere, we’re still lucky because the flood didn’t get inside our house though our neighbors we’re suffering from flood, and we have an innocent baby who is not aware on whats happening to his surroundings. Good thing, yesterday morning my boss texted us and he said that we should not attempt to go to work if it’s too dangerous and then after a few minutes our company suspended our work too.ย  This made me realize that these things are beyond our control, and God has his own purpose why he let this things happened. Our experience yesterday made us all talk and pray to God for guidance and help. And I do believe that He has purpose and better plan for all of us.

Here’s the things I learned from the past two days:

  • Prepare at least three day supplies of perishable goods, like canned goods, snacks, biscuits, and instant noodles. Good thing I went to the grocery last Sunday, so we have enough food then, the downside is we need to cook all the frozen foods in the freezer since there’s no electricity.
  • Get ready for blackout and prepare flashlights, emergency lights, candles and matches just in case the batteries run out.
  • Prepare battery operated fans especially if you have a baby. The downside — we forgot to prepare this. We only used fan and Cyler couldn’t slept last night because he sweats a lot but he didn’t cry. The upside- Cyler was able to kept his cool and was able to play even though it was dark and hot.
  • First aid kits and medicines
  • Purified waters
  • Blanket, umbrella, and raincoats.
  • Make sure you’re phone battery is full charge, so in case of emergency you can ask for help.
  • And most importantly, I learned that God puts us in such situations NOT because he wants to punish us for being disobedient and all, but because he knows we can do it and we can overcome whatever we may face along the way WITH HIM.

So, these are the things that I wanted to share with you. I know after this calamity everything will go back to normal though it IS hard. Remember, there is always a rainbow after the rain. If you are reading this post you are lucky because you are safe. So let’s thank God despite of everything. Trust the Lord not only during tough times but in every single of our life. Keep safe everyone and don’t forget to pray, that’s the best thing we can do.

Plans for the Holy Week

Long weekend is the most awaited time of every employee especially for the working parent like us. No need to file any vacation or sick leave, it’s worry free! Anyway, this long weekend or Lenten season we are planning to go in my hometown at Antipolo and spend the holy week there. But unfortunately, we can’t use our car because two weeks ago our car has damaged due to car accident. Yes you read it, we got into car accident but good thing we’re safe, still alive and kicking! Thank God for that!

Oh well. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So now we changed our plan for the long weekend, we will just stay at home and make the most out of it! More family bonding, playtime and fun time! At least I’m going to be a full-time Mom and wifey for FIVE days, that’s the most important thing to me. Hep! Hep! Hooray!

Now here’s the picture of a super-excited Mommy and a happy baby. ^_^

Lent is a season of grief so let us forgive and ask forgiveness from God. Because he gave his only begotten son to save us from our sins. So let us never forget the true and holy meaning of this season.

Dear God, without you we are nothing.

So now, what’s your plan for the Holy Week?
